Seasonal Needs

  • Annual Banquet (March – mid-May)
    • Banquet planning, administrative support to communicate with volunteers, affiliated ministries, and other supporters
  • Angel Tree© Christmas Gift Program (March – mid-May)
    • Organization: Mid-August through early October
    • Services: Assist in preparing distribution list to match gifts to kids. Includes verifying addresses, preparing distribution lists, and other administrative tasks. Help is usually needed for a couple times between mid-September when we receive the final names from Angel Tree© and late-November when we are organizing volunteers to deliver the gifts.
    • Timing- Christmas Party & Gift Distribution: two weeks before Christmas
    • Services: Distribute gifts and sponsor a party at Christmas-time for 60-120 kids living in the Back of the Yards neighborhood who have an incarcerated parent or other family member. Delivery Drivers: Help is needed within 10-14 days prior to Christmas to deliver the gifts. Christmas Party Volunteers: Help is needed for the Christmas Party (always held on a Saturday one or two weeks before Christmas) for setup, meal service, games, crafts, lead worship, and tear-down.
